What utility are you using that allows for switching?  Can you disable or uninstall so that it is not taking part in the switching processes for NVIDIA.

I think it was a built in function when installing Nvidia drivers on a mobile  :o

Ah, Ok. Thought it was some Utility tool for users that ran at boot-up.

Checked on laptop here, and running from Lumion as you indicated right click did same thing.  Run Lumion only from exe as Run, or exe shortcut.

So, back to same problem.

Only other thing you can check is:
1.  Go through the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel and check its settings.
2.  Try setting Global Settings in NVIDIA Control Panel with High Performance Card as selected - default, so all applications are running NVIDIA.
3.  As Morten mentioned, you may need laptop technical assistance to sort out the problem as hardware issue.

You also need to resolve why not getting NVIDIA Control showing Display Menu.

Hope you can resolve soon.  :)

Thank you for the help suggestions,

I haven't found positive results after checking my intel settings and setting the global settings as always using Nvidia (somehow the software still uses intel's card even when the Nvidia card is used for all applications)

I will try asking the Nvidia support for any solutions from them.
Again, I thank you all for helping all this time.

Unfortunately, nobody on the Nvidia's side replied yet. In the meantime, I have found someone who probably got the same issue as I did earlier:

+1 for research  :).

Optimus is well proven technology now.  It's still a possibility though.

The common thing from yours and the other post, is there is no Display settings available in the Control Panel.

I think the lack of display settings is probably caused by the presence of an integrated card so that my screen's display is using intel for it's Display, Rotation, crop, color balance etc and that the settings would be there, but using Nvidia for 3D applications.

Still haven't found any solutions so far :(

It's been quite a while and I have good and bad news.

The good news is that I got it to finally work.

The bad news is that I had to completely reinstall my system, so if any other users also encounter this problem, they might have to reinstall if they didn't set up correct restore points.

Ended up opening the laptop and changing thermal paste etc etc but it's all worth it since I'm able to participate and contribute the slightest I can now :)

Hi eliris

Many thanks for the update.  That's all good news  :-D.

It's also helpful for other in similar case.  We have another user struggling with a GTX675M so as a last resort, reinstall of Windows could be the solution there also.

Well done on finding a solution.

Also I forgot to mention that I installed the old (2012 or 2013 version) of NVIDIA's drivers.
I'm on driver 306.97 and so far Lumion works fine with it. just in case this might help any future user.

Hmmm, curious, we have just had a commercial user with a GTX675M with those drivers, and upgrading to 337.88 fixed the users problem.

It may have been some old driver components not cleared fully, reason a Windows reinstall worked for you. However NVIDIA driver install is pretty reliable in how it changes the updates.

I would generally suggest to upgrade drivers to recent (in our case for Lumion 337.88), even though obviously Lumion has been working OK historically with older drivers for some years  :-D.

Thanks for letting me know! That's great to hear that the news drivers works well too, so you're right, maybe it was non cleared driver components since I changed drivers quite a bit since some previous ones I've used had a bug that filled out my hard drive :o

For the meantime I'll leave my driver as it is until I finish my competition entry.
But when I'm done I'll do some system restore points and try experiencing around the new drivers to see what caused the problems :)

Hi sami, unfortunately the Nvidia 920M graphics card does not have enough Passmark points (714 points), so it will not be possible to run Lumion.

A minimum of 2,000 points are required to be able to work on simple Lumion scenes. There's more information about the graphics card requirements in this Knowledge Base article.

Have you got a PC with a faster graphics card that you can run Lumion on?

Which version of Lumion are you using?
