Anyone not say Lumion 13000 USD in prizes offered in less than 3 weeks.

Hi Nicholas,

I have to say I'm keeping my 2-3 animations to myself until the last moment.  All I can say is that I'm trying to use themes/software to the limit and something a little different than normal.
I won't have the advantage of those with the Ultimate version, but plan to use my commerical basic, and possibly the Free version too, as best I can.

BTW, I'm siting in a Grand hotel on Sheik Zayed Road, Dubai,  with view of the Emirates Towers, so plenty of inspiration around me, hehehe.

I will have no idea whether it will be successful until the day, but have faith my efforts will be worth it - with or without the prize(s).  Of course to be a winner would be just grand!!  :-D

Best regards,

Mike

Good news Mike!
I am also preparing something, will be 2 videos and not show anything, jeje  :-D. But I hope we will not be counted on the fingers of one hand. The initiative and the notorious prize contest are to promote the use of the Software and demonstrate what it can do. I would wanted to see at least 100 works of all kinds and proceeding from the whole world, and worthy of what Lumion deserves. I hope so be it. Greetings from Alicante, Spain. Nicolas

Hey Nicholas,

I can imagine your 2 videos will be outstanding based on the work you have done to date.  I really wih you all the best.  I'm now discoverying the price one pays with lots of imports.  I pressed F9 on my design and wow did it slow done.  Not the fault of the software, but rather too many imports and limitation of hardware.  Having said that, I'm going to have to be clever with my design imports.

I reckon post 1st November will be very interesting for those visiting the gallery!  :D

Many thanks.

Mike

By too many imports, do you mean too many trees and plants?

Excerpt from the Tips & Tricks thread in the FAQ section:
(F9): If you press F9, all trees and plants in the viewport will be rendered at their best level of  detail, so that it's easier to see where you need to add more trees and plants in a scene.

Keep posting Nicolasweh. We all enjoy your posts. They are always inspiring. I have been working on my competition post for nearly 2 months now. The length of time is killing me, cause I keep changing my mind on what, and how to present mine. What bothers me is the .mp4 format requirement. My files after post processing end up as .mpg which is not the requiered format. Bringing the file back to mp4 means a further loss of quality. File size is another issue. How do you guys manage to bring a 5 minute file to well less than 16mb. I must say the competition now looks more difficult than I thought...

Why only 16mb?

I recommend H264 from After Effects.
This I will post is not the Bible, from Adobe do not know much.
I became a board and it is this:

H264 for 5000 frames
Bitrate Settings
10 Mbps      190 Mb      0.038
15 Mbps      285 Mb      0.057
20 Mbps      380 Mb      0.076
25 Mbps      475 Mb      0.095
30 Mbps      560 Mb      0.112

For example, if you have a video of 5000 frames and the size is 1280 x 720, then you can increase to 20 Mbps Bitrate = 5000 x 0.076 = 380 Mb.
At least in my videos this is almost invariably present, but as you may have noticed, I do not make any changes between them. So nothing would surprise me, if you use Effects or Plugin from After Effects, this table is useless.
On the other hand, H264 Vimeo recommended format and certainly the least quality loss. I noticed when I came back to hang all the videos, and always try not to exceed the 500 MB using the table, not having the Vimeo +.

Thanks Nicolasweh for your detailed explanation on how to manage file size.
I really appreciate.

Yes too many trees, and I'm making more than one scene carefully aiming to seamlessly convey th idea it is still one only.
