Hello!
So, I understood that the white flashes are due to my crashing video card (Nvidia GF9600 GT, 512 mb). But what about that water texture that loads only when i get fairly close to it? What can i do to make it right?

Sorry, I read your post before but had no clue. There is a level of detail and a range of active view (whatever the real name of it is) but this cannot be the case here as this level is too close and there are other objects in the background, too.

So I did not want to add a false advice however I'd rather post it in the Bugs section.

Looks to me like a Z-depth issue.
Is there geometry underneath the watersurface?

It was the z-depth, indeed. I thought about it before but the water texture hasn't got a z-depth slider to pull it forward. It slipped my mind to try to push down the texture behind it... Thanks! :D
