Nice camera work.

I did notice though that the camera is jittery in some places, not sure if that's just the YouTube vid file or from the render process.

Good to see Revit being used.

That's a nice piece, thanks! I must say though that the people let me down...not your fault. I am riding along with you looking at the cool architecture and all of a sudden the setting is spoiled by the animated characters. They always look out of place. I can't say that anyone else can do it either.... a great step forward for Lumion would be animated characters that look more like live people.

We are painfully aware of this. As a minimum, the animated characters will need better animations and normalmaps (they're currently only using diffuse textures).

Morten I have always hesitated to say so only cause I see it as not possible for now.
I mean not possible for anyone. I have been around a bit and the industry has dumb animated people models everywhere. I can't find any people makers either except for gamers. I have seen a few good people at evermotion but the gear required to run them is out of my league.

I think somebody has to come up with a better idea.... experimenting with live greenscreened characters projected on clipmaps within lumion. The oclusive characteristics of the video character might be faked with a proxy object on which the clips could be projected...that sounds nuts doesn't it? :D

I was here once before but got distracted cause there wasn't a single example of in-context animated characters...I see lots of 2d which look good but do you know where to find examples of their animated characters?

They've basically filmed people from 360 degrees, and as the camera in the 3D application moves around, the corresponding frame from the video texture is displayed, so it looks like the characters are 3-dimensional.

Obviously this method suffers from the usual limitations that billboard-style characters have, ie, they're paper thin when viewed from above, and shadows don't look convincing as you move the camera round them.

Ha! none of the people are paying attention to whatever they are there for  :-D  :-D, all on their cellphones, tut tut, and looking around or reading etc   :D

I know its only examples showing their characters, but you'd think they would try to at least do more with characters in context.
