Alienware Area 51
I7-920 - 12 gigs Ram
Titian 6 Gig Bottle necked

We were commissioned to produce the Construction Documents on this design. The model started with Structural Framing and moved into a full designed model for the client. Final render was done in Lumion 3.2.1 and at 3 stars it took a little over 14 hours.

Hope you all enjoy and take a second to make a comment or two. I know the 3 cars in the parking lot are floating, I removed them but somehow they re appeared. There is a wood line in the stair tower where the material was not correct.

Enjoy.

Were they in a layer, and that layer was not hidden using a Hide Layer Effect in either the Entire Movie (hides for whole movie) or in clips?

No, I think I was messing about with another copy and this one I forgot to remove them, it's not a lumion mistake but my own.

I will have to upload some more shots of the structure on Tuesday. I was working with the structural engineer and the architect at the same time and the house is all constructed like a conventional steel structure. I used all of the called out beams and joist about 100 different W sections from a 4x16 all the way up to a 16x128, it all spans on several 6x6 columns and 10k steel joist.

The roof cantilevers over the top of the whole structure and is held up by 1-1/4" steel wire and turnbuckles. The whole staircase floats from the lower floor to the 3rd floor and the center structure is the 3-1/2 story cmu elevator shaft.

We are right now at 22 24x36 sheets in details. The look is growing on me every time I look at it, but I am a Country French kinda guy. I love steep pitched roofs.

I wanted to send an update on this project. It was finished up last month and I got a chance to get some drone photos of the property. First image is the cover rendering from Lumion, the other two are the actual project. I may revisit this in Lumion 6 to see if there is a huge difference.

Thanks for all the feedback,

Chris
