This was modelled partly in ArchiCAD and Lumion. A Par 5 hole redesigned to a Par 4

Nice work.  Lumion has huge potential for projects like this.   I would really like to see a tree populator, where you could assign a mass amount a trees to a given defined polygon shape on the ground plane.   For a project like this, you could define a polygon in in your modeling software where there is forest, and populate that area with a set of trees that the user chooses.   You could pick the tree species, and mix it up and allow varying species in the defined space.

Thanks guys for the kind words.
@ Remko
I would to add to the wishlist, for the landscaping tool brush size to be able go even smaller for more control with finer detail work. Also for all the landscaping paint brushes to available in one palette and not only 4 brushes per scene type. As I liked this darker green grass I used in this video, but in the scene type, there was no sand or stone paint brush which would have helped soften the edges by the waters edge.

That's fantastic Offset.
Now with a first person player that could be loaded on an ipad or iphone.....a great tool to take with you on the course. Real time tracking of yardage, weather...etc...auto club selection. ..and a playback mode so when you are at the 19th hole you can show your buddies your great shots.

$$$$ :-D

I would like to see this kind of tree/grass populator based on the texture painted on the terrain.

Thanks modelhead. We are busy working towards doing a fly through like this one for each hole for their website, and they can preview each hole on their ipad before playing the hole.  :-D

Great work offset.

What was your workflow for texturing the terrain with the different materials?

Im in golf course design and trying to get my head around texturing in Lumion as opposed to max where i can use composite maps/materials and multiple alphas.

At the moment im thinking that i need to "split" my terrain into separate objects such as green, fairway tees so i can apply different materials to each. This is because the standard number of 4 landscape materials doesnt suit my needs.

Thanks

Offset,

Very nice work!

How did you handle such a large scene--modeling all that terrain?

It looks like a very large site--a few kilometers square?

And the question about the various textures and materials?

We have always struggled with these very large scenes.

The trees must have taken a long time in Lumion? I agree with the other posts about the need to have a "vegetation paint tool" like we see in Vue or TwinMotion.

Again, great job!  ;)
