Hi,

Here's a project for a private client, stills produced for planning application, movie produced for my own enjoyment! SketchUp model from 3D Warehouse used to illustrate glamping pods on private land in Oxfordshire, England.

Lumion Pro 9.0.2
Software: SketchUp, Modo, Photoshop, Premier Pro.
Lumion Scene Prep: 4 hours
Render – Stills (3840x2160): 6 mins
Render – Movie (1920x1080): 1 min per frame
RTX2080, Threadripper 2990WX, 64GB RAM.

Awesome work! Reminds me somewhat the first works of Alex Roman playing with greenery in the black japanese house amidst the forest. I see all the work needed to scatter all this greenery :D

Thanks for the feedback and compliments. Yes every plant/greenery individually placed as well as layering geometry elements to get the different grass types and heights.

I really like the depth in texture the layering of vegetation. Did you use Lumion trees and grass only? Or did you import lots pf models for the landscape.

Also would very keen to know what graphics card you had before the RTX2080. I have a GTX 1080Ti and have been considering upgrading but not sure if the improvement will justify the cost of new RTX.

Thanks

Thanks, yes only used Lumion trees and grass to poulate the scene, except for one free asset from Quixel (see the fallen log detail). I created the landscape and dirt track as a seperate meshes and assigned a combination of different materials. Meaning that when imported into Lumion a combination of 3D grasses, combined with the various Lumion vegetation would create the desired depth of textures.

Yes, totally agree with Morten regarding the comparisons topic this is the best source of information, but can confirm that the RTX2080Ti is faster than the GTX1080. Using the topics test criteria, I'm getting 4secs/frame at 1920x1080p 30fps 5 star quality using Villa Cabrera and 15.8secs/frame at 3840x2160p 30fps 5 star quality and 1min 47secs for the Photo Mode of Photo 1 at Poster 7680x4320.

Hope that helps.
