Very nice!  How are you doing your site/topography?

thanks.  Site is from a autodesk civil3D CAD file.  This was brought into 3ds MAX and then pasted a high res aireal photo to the mesh, exported to Lumion via FBX format.  Building was modeled in Revit, but imported into 3ds Max before exporting to Lumion to set up some the texturing.

I am having trouble getting hi-res textures into MAX...any tips?

Very nice!
Love that ground plane texture.  Hot!

Sun goes up and down at the horizon...not sideways.   :)

Hey my name is Chewbacca, on my planet the sun goes down sideways and there are 2 moons!  :-D  Good catch, thanks.

Ya, I have had that promblem as well, it seem there is a threshold at how wide the pixel of the texture can be at its max.  Maybe this due to my video card, but if I remember a high res texture like on a ground plane would turn black at about 6000 pixel wide.   Seem it I just drop it down from there  I can get them in for the most part.

That may be the problem.  I'll give it a try

Haha Chewbacca!

I was just sharing how it works on Earth.

I've never been to your planet but imagine it is quite nice.

Do you have any blue Kardashians there?

+1 for me!  Fantastic job!  Terrain modeling is absolutely my most lothed excercise...  I need to get better with it... I like your suggested work flow.  I have been trying to use Revit for most of my site plans... the elevation point system works pretty well... Anyhow, congrats on an excellent video!

Thanks guys for all the comments.

The main thing is trying to find the highest res aireal image of your site plan, which can be a challenge.   Also adding a little fog in the distance also seems to help out with depth and give a sense of a large landscape.
