hi all

what is seen here is about one third of the entire estate, which when completed will have 1200 homes and about 1500 townhouse homes. the golf course was designed by Australian Greg Norman and is a typical links course.

modeling was done in sketchup, which is probably not the ideal for this kind of project, but is certainly the quickest.

the scene has 19132 trees excluding about 1500 plants and rocks and measures about 4.5 x 4.5 km.

i have portrayed a overhead of most of the course and honed in on four of the best holes.

i have added some stills and will add some more in due course, the great thing about a landscape like this is that you can very easily get some great shots.

made using lumion 4 standard.

hp elite i7 with 24 gigs of ram and nvidea gtx 660ti graphics card.

the framerate was eventually down to 2 frames per second.

thanks for advice from Gilson and Peterm during the project.

hope you enjoy.

hi Xtreme-L

thank you very much.

i used a reverse technique as described in the forum, i think the thanks go to gonzobot if i am not mistaken.

the water is from the pond selection in the landscape water, i added a plane in sketchup just above it and assigned the glass material to the plane and then a reflection plane to the glass material.

hi BABE

yes wind to zero, the flickering is there and is not very noticeable on my 24" monitor, but it is going to be played in a constant loop on a 60" high def tv in a sales office. i am a bit scared to take it there  :-\

hi Fabien

thank you so much for your kind words and the help on GE.

hi Francan
