Here is my latest project.
A landscape master plan for a new residence in the country.
The house and landscape are done in SketchUp - the surrounding foothills are done in Infraworks.

I had a loooong day to add textures and the plants. It took around a 1/2 day to create the still images and animation paths. The opening scene took 6 hours for my computer to build while all the other scenes were around 1.5-.5 hrs each.

this project has more of a country feeling...really in the middle of nowhere :)

Looks really good Chuck!
I like the aerial clip a lot, very natural, lighting, colors, volume clouds too right?

I have access to infraworks but never tried it.
Do you use it a lot? For what specifically?

Thanks
Martin

ps: sorry if i posted this twice, got a weird error the first time

Thanks Gilson!!

Martin, you are correct - those are volume clouds!! I love this effect, as the clouds slowly move over the site and adds shadows to the ground plane!

I do use Infraworks a lot... but for nothing up close. I find the roads and textures just don't feel/look right - but they are perfect for creating massive surrounding landscapes - especially if you have key landmarks (lakes, mountains, rolling planes....) to show in the back ground... I hope that makes sense??!  It is prefect for my lake front projects  :)

Cool thanks for the reply Chuck.

One more question if that's ok: Did the aerial photo came with your Infraworks 3d model?

Martin - the aerial photo next to the house is a High res satellite imagery - I use the Infraworks site for the surrounding site and imagery. I usually will put my Infraworks model under my site model (and on a different layer - because they can be pretty taxing).

If you look at the following preliminary images of a different project, you can see the high res imagery marked with yellow arrows and the infraworks model under, marked with red arrows..
I hope that helps :)
