Hello blendman, for the effect of construction of the building is very simple:
First place the horizontal cut at a low point construction, which causes the building disappears.
Second let's make a movie and add the motion of an object, in this case the end point of the film cut to vertically climb in excess of the construction.
Finally, the movie and we see the effect of growth of the construction.

I hope I explained well.

A greeting.

Hi Blendman, this is easy to do as is it in SKU. after done a "section plane in lights folder" select in basic animation move elements as Severino explained as well. Also can do it a little bit more complicated in animation pluging

We have to plan to make many mini tutorials. We'll make a list of 50 topics or something like that and we'll have everything in the company making short tutorials about these topics. This way we can easily get many tutorials very quickly because short concentrated tutorials require a lot less work than one complicated long one. For the previous tutorials it took me a lot of time to add the text. With short tutorials that's not really needed because it quite evident to see what is going on.

This would be great Remko.  Although many of the participants of the Forum try to give their time, description and perspective on how to do a feature, it is not always clear.  Nothing beats a proper video screen tutorial - short and to the point - even better!

Many thanks and Merry Christmas to you and your piers!
