No, I'm on strike with the interiors.  :D :D :D
Until we have components, or the ability to modify multiple lights at once and not have to remove one to place another, I will not do indoors at night.  :-\

the ability to modify multiple lights at once

You can already modify the properties (colour, cone angle etc) of multiple selected lights.

Or do you mean the ability to replace 1 light type with another (as you requested in the other post)?

Build 3 will also introduce a Light bulb on/off button as well as the ability to define the shadows from a light as static or dynamic. Dynamic shadows will be updated all the time, and static shadows won't.

This allows you to reduce rendering times dramatically by defining the shadows from less-important lights in your scene as static (assuming that they don't move).

Also, if you set the shadows from all lights to static in Build 3, F8 will still update the shadows, but only once.

Morten, I wanted to download the version 2.1 (but is no longer available) because I can´t believe I am such an idiot!
I'm sure I tried to select 3 lights at a time and change the color and more, and just did it in one light.
This has been enhanced in version 2.2, or there is no other possibility that is just an Idiot.
Sorry. If you want removes all my post for the day.

Yes, you're right, I think this was the case in Build 1 but they must have fixed it in Build 2.

It's a bit weird though because you first have to select the properties of a light and THEN use ctrl to select multiple lights. Changing/Loading IES profiles in this menu is on our wish list too.

Lumion 2.1 will have the option to use static shadows. This means your scene will render just as fast as no shadows so you can easily have a parking lot with 50 light and still have fast rendering speed :D

Very impressive work  Nicholas!

Remko, Mortem,

I had considerable problem reendering my internal lighting and only the purple light, not the warm 'orange lights - came through in the render -both still phots and movie making'.  The discussions here suggest I might need to play around with the setting more, which I will try, otherwise I will give you more details.  BTW, what appears to be the indoor 'day' scene in the desert villa design, is infact an attempt to render a night scene!!!!

Only by using camstudio at the very end of the video, did I get to record the actual interior light settings.

Nicholas does very SUPERIOR work.
Very Very appreciative of his sharing of his architectural mastery.

L2.0 - You can't import lights?
You can't import objects and turn them into specific lights?

So now your being pulled out of a primary modeler to make Lumion work.

Is this correct?

Yes this is correct. I love the idea though to import lights. I think we do have to make some changes for this because now objects are imported as a single object in the object library and as soon as you start adding lights and camera to the equation you are essentially importing a scene. Importing a scene could have several other advantages such as importing instances or something like that.

Very soon we will release Build 3 and it will have several fixes on the rendering front so please wait for that version and see if it solves any issues with the lights.

Thanks for the reply Remko.

I think we are talking about a little bit different thing.
What you were talking about is importing an entire scene from exterior 3DMax, Maya, etc (with their 3d modeling software lights, their 3d modeling software cameras, their paths, their 3d Modeling software lights, etc) would be nice for many I'm sure - an entire scene, yes.

what I described earlier was in lieu of this.
Say for instance you have a building or a street and a person is creating or has models of interior lights (these are simply meshes built in a native 3d app) or you have street lights with bulbs (again meshes).  They have a material applied in whatever modeling application is being used if wanted and are given a name in ones native 3D modeling software.

Fast forward - Model has been imported into Lumion.  Inside Lumion are these imported meshes that "represent" lights. Then to have the ability to be able to select these meshes and apply a specific Lumion light to them...in mass, individually, etc.... - like a material.  Then people would not have to try to place lights in Lumion without the snaps and all that good stuff that the modeling apps are made to do.  They can bring them in like tree models, houses, whatever - then apply the light to the mesh.  That would be fast.    ;)

Excellent CR, as well as lights, insertion into Lumion of trees, palm trees, cars or furniture based on a specific layer from the 3d software, right?

Would eliminate the doubled amount of work that currently happens.
