First serious test with Lumion RC6. 2 mains problems with Sketchup collada export (work several hours to clean the 3d shelter model but no solution : group parts , ungroup parts, different colors for textures , …. ).

- Shelter exterior sides keeps from time to time Sketchup initial/export layer color ?? : pink, mixed with steel texture from Lumion. See the video.

- Some shelter inside frame keep transparent/translucent instead of being wood texture ? See the video.

The shelter had only few parts … and it was quite difficult to import them correctly inside Lumion … What about detailed project with numerous parts ? To me it is the main problem to solve for the final 1.0 version … maybe it is in bug list yet !.

Thank you.

PS : with my new GTX580+quadcore I7 + 27inches screen it is a great experience to navigate and travel into Lumion 3d natural environnement …thanks to the team.

PS2: Dream of an orbital path camera (with focus on object center) and helicoidal path camera …. Doing it manually it is not so easy …Know it is on the wish list.

I am not sure why you are having problems importing. Certainly from sketchup I don't know of many issues. Maybe someone who is also using sketchup a lot can help you?

Are your backfaces pink? If they are and you imported 2 sided material, you can run into z-deapth problems. Select your metal material and try to adjust the z-deapth. Make sure you look at the item at all angles when you make this adjusment, as sometimes on one view you will not see it, but you may in another. The transparent mateiral on the inside maybe the backface of a material insterad of the frontface. I have run into this before. A little more detail on your import settings could help.

1) One of my problem was Depth Offset tool, in texture panel in Lumion, you are right, thanks : pink color problem = Depth offset problem. Just move the panel to find the solution.

2) Keep the other one : Half of the imported object (half shelter upper wood frame keeps transparent, impossible to apply a texture). ???

Find a solution for the second problem : explode, explode, explode parts until nothing could be exploded in Sketchup ! ;) ;)
3D file is dead to work on it after. Keep in mind parts color in Sketchup model organisation is more important than parts group to import in Lumion ... Should be written in big letters in Sketchup import chapter !.

PS : Post new video tomorrow.
