Hi,

After a (at times stormy weather) holiday to the North Norfolk coast I was inspired to create this seascape. There's no post production. Exported at 30fps 5* Quality.

Many thanks to James Harmer for the beach

And Alexandre González Rivas for the boat model

This is really nice. Excellent work. How did you achieve the bubbling sand effect near the seagulls?
Was the bobbing bouy animated in Blender and then imported? I would be interested more in your workflow.

Hi Richard, Thanks.

The bubbling sand effect is actually from the rain drops, I reduced the particle size right down to minimise the in air rain effect but retained the on ground splashing. With regards to the buoy, its completely animated within Lumion using the advanced move effect, keyframed to match the swell and frequency of the waves.

Hope that helps.

Very cool and inventive. Just out of curiosity, to what extent did you use Blender in the scene? Was it for composition? I'm using it myself and just interested to find out what others are doing and how they are using it to compliment their scenes.

In this instance I only used Blender to check, convert and re-texture (in places) the Sketchfab files, all other composition elements were put together within Lumion.

Saying that I'd be very happy in using Blender to model up buildings or other elements as I've found it relatively easy to transition from other software to Blender.

Wow version 10 made a massive difference to this scene, it was excellent previously but 10 makes it even better!

Displacement Mapping is the icing on the cake. :)

Once you've seen the difference, it makes it hard to go back to materials without Displacement Mapping.

Excellent update marc1205. Love the look of the beach sand

Displacement is a winner!!
Will only get better with more materials added ;)

Wow, beautiful work!!!  Loving it!

Are all the plants, rocks, etc. from Lumion Content Library?

Best,

Hi Ken, thanks.

All the plants are from the Lumion library, and around 50% of the rocks.
