Hi,

Here is some promotional work to illustrate the possibilities to architectural clients of taking an existing SketchUp file and creating a realistic scene around it within Lumion. In particular we wanted the scene to be tree free and explore the ability to create vast open spaces, as well as creating a feel of the location, in this instance the Scottish Highlands.

Lumion Pro 9.0.2
Software: SketchUp, Modo, Photoshop, Premier Pro.
Lumion Scene Prep: 16 hours
Render – Stills (3840x2160): 7 mins (average)
Render – Movie (1920x1080): 2 min per frame
RTX2080, Threadripper 2990WX, 64GB RAM.

Impressive and beautiful!
How did you make the rocks and terrain?  :D

Thanks very much.

The main rock asset was free from Quixel (Huge Icelandic Lava Cliff), with all other rocks etc. direct from the Lumion library. The foreground terrain was quickly modelled in Modo so I could use 3D real grass. The rest is Lumion landscape.

Hope that helps.

Amazing work Marc. There is a lot to be said for adding atmospheric music and sounds to a scene.

Was this rendered at 60fps?

Thanks Noviun. Sound certainly makes a massive difference to the atmosphere of a scene.

It was all rendered at 30fps at a combination of 4 and 5 star quality settings.

Hi Peter, yes Richard is right that asset is free, they have 50 assets ranging from 3D files to textures and decals. You just need to create an account (no subscription neccessary) and you get access to the free assets for 30 days. If you want to continue then you would have to switch to a paid subscription.

Hope that helps.

And thanks for the compliments too.

So if you download these items are they yours forever? Sorry I am not sure how Quixel works exactly. Could you sign up for 30 days, download all the assets and then not continue your trial for example?

Hi Richard, thanks for clearing that up, I hadn't read the terms and conditions, just assumed that free was free! Thankfully we did go the subscription route at the end of our 30 day trial so seems that we'll be ok. Sorry for any confusion on my part.

Probably the most surreal realistic rendering I've seen out of Lumion.
