[Answered] Still images - adding to-scale features

Hi, is it possible to use existing still images of a site and somehow make to-scale edits? Say I have a photo showing existing features and I want to add proposed features that are scaled correctly. Is this possible, and if so are there any tutorials available?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

Hi ALex

Welcome.  :)

Which version of Lumion are you using?

I actually don’t have Lumion yet but my company is considering purchasing and this is one question that came up.

Thanks for clarifying that, Alex.

There's no dedicated composite/camera match functionality in Lumion.

Lumion does however include an Overlay Effect which allows you to place an overlay image on top of the Lumion viewport with adjustable transparency. You'd then have to move the camera and adjust its Focal Length to try to make it match the overlay image.

It's also possible to sync the camera view in SketchUp, Revit, ArchiCAD, Rhino and Vectorworks with the camera view in Lumion via the Lumion LiveSync plug-ins:

If you'd like to evaluate this functionality as well as Lumion in more detail, please note that there are two Trial versions: a smaller limited Lumion 9.3 Trial version and the full Lumion 9.3.1 Pro Trial version.

I'd recommend the latter as the 14-day license period can be extended upon request.
