So I had Lumion 8 Student version and suddenly today when I tried to open the app, it said that my activation is expired. I tried to get emergency key but the site told me that I have never actually got the license key to any Lumion which was a complete lie. Then I looked to my mails if they sent me any kind of heads up about expiration date, I wasn't able to find any but I found the link of Lumion 9. Even though it sucks to lose my project, I found the strength to accept the consequences of downloading Lumion 9 and clicked the link but it threw me in to some kind of non sense page. I can't seem to have any Lumions now but I have the keys. Sorry but really disappointed with this. I mean seriously ?? I have to wait for days to get some non working reply from my local Lumion seller now. What am I supposed to do in the mean time ? I hope someone has an idea about this. Thanks.

I gotta say, Lumion has a really good staff but the fact that the company acts like this app is the most precious thing ever is ridiculous. I should be able to download Lumion 9 as I want and then by just entering my key, I should be able to activate it but no. You guys only give a year for license key and try desperately hard to avoid people reaching to the app easily. I'm not sure if this is to make it harder for pirating this app but they are pirating it anyway. What's the point of being such a hardass to people who actually try to use this legally ??? You should really take a look into Autodesk apps' educational licenses, their system is working a lot better and easier.

Welcome, CSA3 - I'm sorry to hear that you can no longer run Lumion due to an expired License Key.

For future reference, please contact us earlier, i.e. before you get upset over an issue - we're here to help.

Several automated reminders are sent over the weeks before a Student License Key expires. You might need to check in the Spam folder as well on the Promotions tab as emails from [email protected] are sometimes moved to those areas in Gmail.

Your local reseller is indeed in charge of Student licenses in the country you're located in:

What we can do here is to take a look at your Getting started with Lumion emails and your details in the license database.

I can already see that your Lumion 8 License Key has expired - which is to be expected as it's valid for 1 year.

However, I can't see any Lumion 9 License Keys registered under your Gmail account, so to get started please forward your Getting started with Lumion emails for version 8.x and 9.x to uploads [at] lumion.com, so we can take a look.

That's because you don't seem to have registered a valid Student License Key on your Profile page near the top of this page (it's step 1 in the Getting started with Lumion emails you received). A valid License Key is required to qualify for technical support and once you've registered it, you get access to the full Support Center (most of which is hidden until you register a valid License Key).

I see my Lumion 9 license key. I never actually registered my key but it was already registered. I just tried to register again a moment ago and here is the ss of what happened. Thanks for replying fastly. I appreciate it.

Thanks for the screenshot and for clarifying that.

For future reference, please treat Lumion License Keys like credit card numbers, i.e. never show them in public. :)

As you applied in December last year, the License Key is indeed expired as 1 year has elapsed, so you can't run the Lumion 9.0.2 Download Manager.

To proceed, you will have to contact your local reseller again to re-apply for a new License Key which will be valid for 1 year as well. Our reseller in Turkey should be pretty quick though but let us know if you don't get a reply soon, i.e. within 24 hours or so between Monday and Friday. We can contact them directly if that's the case.

(Apologies for the hassle caused by having to re-apply by the way - your earlier feedback will be forwarded to my colleagues who are in charge of Student licensing)

Thanks. What's done is done for me but maybe some upgrades can be done that would make Lumion a lot more easier to use. If my projects due date was tomorrow or smh like that I was officially screwed. I should be getting an immediate solution for this but I need to re contact with the reseller and god knows when will I get the download link...

Yes, that could have been disastrous.

I'll ask one of my colleagues to look at the email log to confirm that the automated reminders were sent to your Gmail account over the past few weeks, prior to the expiry date of your License Key.

If you used a different email address when you applied for the License Key in December last year, I'd be grateful if you could forward it to uploads [at] lumion.com, so we can search for that address as well.

I should be getting an immediate solution for this but I need to re contact with the reseller and god knows when will I get the download link...

I was always using the same mail in Lumion appliances. I have send that mail address the mails I got for Lumion 9, 8.5, 8.3 and 8...

Hi Can, my colleague has informed me that it's up to your local reseller to send the reminders (For comparison, the reminders are sent automatically in the USA).

My colleague will contact your local reseller to make sure that they remember to inform students when License Keys are about to expire in the future.

So still no answer from local reseller of lumion. You told me to contact you if there is no answer from lumion in 24 hours. Wonder if you can do anything about it?
