Notes on backward compatibility
Please note that if you save a scene in Lumion SP2 you can not load it in Lumion SP1.

If you need to make a backup of your scenes before migrating from Lumion SP1 to Lumion SP2, please make a copy of the Scenes and Library folders that are located in Documents/Lumion or My Documents/Lumion folder.

Good point. We might have a feature in later updates to copy your old projects instead of using the same files. This would allow you to use a previous version with all your data still in tact.

this is valid if I overwrite a Lumion 1.0 projects...If I save with a different name the previous version should be readable with Lumion 1.0...right?

Yes, as long as you don't overwrite a scene made with Lumion SP1. But you should still make a backup of old projects made in Lumion SP1 (the Scenes and Library folders in My Documents/Lumion/), just in case :)
