Dear Lumion users,

We are pleased to inform you that version 6.3 of Lumion and Lumion Pro has been released.

Thanks a lot for your support, feedback, error reports and patience since Lumion 6.0.1 was released!

Version 6.3 has exciting new VR features that a lot of you have been keen to see in Lumion - we hope you will like them!

LUMION VIEWER
Lumion Viewer will be released at a later date, and we will update this thread when it happens. Please click on the 'Notify' button near the top of this thread if you would like to receive an email when Lumion Viewer is released.

DOWNLOADING LUMION 6.3
Licensed customers should now have received an email with download instructions (please check your Spam folder on your email account).

Please note that the email was sent to the email address that was used when Lumion 6 was purchased, so if you work for a large organisation you may have to ask the person who bought Lumion to forward the email to you.

If you haven't received the email, please forward your Lumion 6 license number and purchase receipt to [email protected], so they can send you another email.
IMPORTANT: Please do not send private messages and emails to members of staff - unless we specifically ask you to send us sensitive information, for example License Keys.

LUMION 6.3: RELEASE NOTES

COMPATIBILITY
Please note that scenes and models saved in 6.3 are not backwards compatible with earlier versions.


NEW FEATURES

MYLUMION MODE
  • Oculus Rift support: New "Generate VR Panorama" function for creating static 360 degree immersive panoramas
  • Samsung GearVR support: New "Generate VR Panorama" function for creating static 360 degree immersive panoramas.
    • Requirements: GearVR Second Innovator Edition or Consumer Edition headset.
    • The Consumer Edition headset is compatible with Galaxy S7 | S7 edge, Note5, S6 and S6 edge.
    • Click here to see how to transfer GearVR renderings from Lumion to your Samsung phone.
  • New LumionVR application for viewing static 360 degree panoramas on Oculus Rift DK2 headsets.
  • It is now possible to assign certain Movie effects to MyLumion and VR panoramas.

CHANGES & RESOLVED ERRORS

BUILD MODE
  • Grass: Short grass no longer appears on non-grassy parts of the terrain.
  • Grass: Grass assigned to slot 2, 3 or 4 now blends better with the terrain.
  • Grass: Grass assigned to slot 2, 3 or 4 now fades out along the edge of the editable 2x2km Lumion terrain.
  • Lumion Terrain: The terrain and imported models that use the Landscape material now look identical.

MOVIE/PHOTO MODE
  • Reflection effect: Planar reflections on the standard Glass materials are no longer pixelated on Print and Poster renderings.

MATERIAL EDITOR
  • The material index for imported models is now reset when a scene is loaded. This prevents gaps from appearing in the material index.
  • PureGlass: This material is no longer black when viewed from very far away.
  • PureGlass: Jagged edges no longer appear on thin PureGlass surfaces when viewed from far away at maximum zoom.
  • PureGlass: Tinted glass now retains its color when viewed from very far away.
  • PureGlass: This material no longer flickers when assigned to very thin surfaces (e.g. windows).

IMPORT & EXPORT
  • DAE: Textures with spaces in their file paths are now imported correctly.
  • SKP: Layer materials from SketchUp are now double-sided by default.
  • KMZ: KMZ files that include 3d model data can now be imported without problems again.
  • DWG: A user-submitted file can now be imported without problems.
  • DWG: Models on frozen layers are no longer imported.
  • Allplan: Textures exported via Collada 1.5 are now imported correctly in Lumion.
  • ArchiCAD 2014: A 3DS file exported from ArchiCAD 2014 no longer makes Lumion crash.

MYLUMION
  • MyLumion: The warning window that appears if Limit all textures to 512x512 is turned on, no longer has a non-functional exit button.
